Sasha Senal

He Too is Colonized

Prodding for answer to racist question,
he forgets that we are in the presence
of eucalyptus who chimes in with hollow
rustling—a weep, if you listen—over Bolinas
waves who crack against igneous figures
in their rage for homecoming.

Sasha Senal studies writing and literature at UCSB. Their poetic works seek to mediate their upbringing as a queer biracial womxn in the fluid space between a binary of Pacific Northwest bohemian/hick aesthetics. She is the current EIC of Spectrum Literary Journal and the creative writing director for Entheoscope.
